We still have some calendars
available. Cost is
now $5 since January has passed. Cash or check payable to the Friends of the Fiske.
The
photos are of several old and new Wrentham buildings and
would make great gifts!!
During January and
February we are entering a contest with GOTBOOKS and will
get a bonus of 10% of the weight collected from our
GOTBOOKS bin. You can help us earn that bonus and keep old
materials, (books, audios, videos, cd's, paperbacks,
records and textbooks) out of the landfill. Remember that
the library collects new, usable or saleable books,
textbooks, dvd's and paperbacks for our collection or for
the annual Friends of the Fiske Library booksale. If you
don't think your material would benefit us, PLEASE use the
bin at the rear of the parking lot. (NO
encyclopedias, moldy books, magazines or phone books can
be placed in the bin!!) THANKS AS ALWAYS.
We are encouraging everyone
to sign up for the “LIBRARY ELF” email notification
program. This will allow you to get hold notices and
information on items coming due. You can put all your
family members on one account so everyone is together!!
This is very helpful when everyone uses their own card.
Notification can be by email or text message. The ELF is
great!! Ask for information at the front desk.
The Friends of the Fiske have
funded a collection of titles that will be available to
Wrentham residents only. You should begin to see them in
the catalog in a few weeks. THANKS TO OUR GENEROUS
FRIENDS!!!
We
have prepared a packet of handouts that should respond
to all your questions! Ask at the front desk!!
We have invited Greg to
return with his popular pastel painting class! This year
he will have the class complete a portrait of the Venice
Canals using Pointillism and Impressionism. The class is
free and all materials are provided. Limited space so
SIGN-UP early!!
Funded by the Wrentham Cultural Council and the Friends of
the Fiske.
The Friends of the Library have paid
for three new computer workstations. Your donations to our
Annual Appeal have helped!!
We
have a pass for free parking at all of the recreational
areas in Massachusetts. The pass is provided by the
Department of Conservation and Recreation. Included are
most beaches, conservation areas and state parks. Ask to
reserve the pass at the front desk!!
Did you know the Library has over 100 award winning
Foreign Films??!! More are added each month so check out
the printed list in the DVD area.
Check the Adult Activities page for details.
